Course Overview
Two Days Dedicated to One Remarkable Nerve
The Viva Las Vagus 2-Day Introductory Continuing Education Course totals 14 hours across both days. It is designed to educate Manual Therapists on the health benefits their patients can gain from treatment of the vagus nerve.
Practitioners will watch live demonstrations, engage in collaborative discussion, and work hands-on in supervised partner practice throughout both days โ building real clinical confidence with vagal assessment and treatment.
๐ Pre-Course Home Study
To make the most of your in-class time, please complete the following before Day 1:
- Lesson 1:Watch the five Vagus Nerve videos provided through the LMS.
- Lesson 2:Read two articles based on professionally conducted vagus nerve research.
- Lesson 3:Draw the vagus nerve pathway from the medulla oblongata, label all branches, and submit via the LMS before attending.

Learn the anatomy of CNX, its embryological development, reflexes, and far-reaching functions throughout the body.
Vagal Assessment
Become confident assessing vagal tone โ learning how to assess and recognize shifts in your own and your patients’ vagal state.
Access Sites
Know precisely where the vagus access sites are on the body and how to approach them safely and effectively.
Multi-Modal Treatment
Treat the vagus nerve through lymphatic, fascial, craniosacral, and osteoarticulation (MET) approaches in supervised practice.
Vagal Theories
Understand vagus nerve trends and theories over the past 20 years and today โ including PolyVagal and MultiVagal frameworks.
Systems Integration
Gain understanding of the Social Engagement System, HPA Axis, and Gut-Brain and Heart-Brain involvement with CNX.
Clinical Recognition
Recognize the signs, symptoms, and diagnoses involving the vagus nerve across your patient population.
Patient Home Care
Practice and experience vagal self-care methods you can immediately teach your patients for ongoing support between treatments.
Heightened Vagal Tone
Experience a heightened vagal tone through real treatment exchanges in class โ you’ll feel the difference, not just learn it.
